P/E Ratio
The P/E ratio shows how much you pay for every $1 (or R1) of real yearly profit a company makes. A P/E of 20 means you pay $20 for $1 of profit.
Why it matters
A sky-high P/E means the price is betting on a perfect future. If the story slips, the price can fall hard even when the business is fine.
